On Monday we heard the story of Mr. Walter Schmietenknop and his miraculous story of being saved from U-767 during World War 2. What was more impressive was that he told students and teachers that he did not come to talk about war; rather, his talk was about Jesus Christ. Check out his full story.

India Wiki

A wiki is "page or collection of Web pages designed to enable anyone (excluding blocked or banned users) who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki). This is a unique and popular way of learning, which we will learn to use together. For our initial , trial attempt, let's pool together what we know about India. We understand that there may be a lot or there may be a little. So go ahead and try it out! The address is http://gr6-india.wikispaces.com/brainstorm and you begin by clicking on the Edit this page button at the top . Please identify yourself with your initials (e.g. AE).

Bibliographies

There are many online tools for constructing bibliographies. One of the better ones is found at bibme.org. It is free and has a clear interface. In some cases, it also enters much of the bibliographic information.

Once you've entered the information, it's not necessary to regisiter on the site. Find your bibliographic information under 'My Bibliography' on the right side of the page (copy & paste into your document).

Lifewater

Today Pastor Bill came and talked to our school about finding water in Liberia. He represents an organization called Lifewater Canada. Marissa said she thought about "people in other countries and how devastating their lives were." In addition, she noted how lucky we are. Matt said his talk was "eye opening" because it showed the pain felt in other countries. Talk to your child about Pastor Bill's talk. You might learn something.

Check out Embassy World. If you have your country chosen , you can see if they have any embassy nearby (i.e. somewhere in Canada). After Canada you can look to the United States, but your chances of receiving something back from Canada are better than from the US. Secondly, email is better than having to write a letter as it's much quicker. Check out this sample email. Please talk with your teacher before sending an email because he wants to make sure you do it correctly.
