Chinese Potluck

The potluck phenomenon arrived in the grade 6 classes on Thursday. It was amazing! We would like to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success!

Movie Night

If you are looking for something to do on Friday, February 27 (our pro-D day), come to the Clova Theatre on 176th St. in Cloverdale to see two movies for the low, low price of $8.00. The movies being shown are Madagascar 2 and Hotel for Dogs. Movies begin at 12:30 and will end at about 4:30. There is a concession available (bring your own container to save money on popcorn). Talk to Mrs. Vis on Tuesday or Wednesday to pre-order tickets. This is a private movie showing, and all proceeds will go to support Langley Christian School's French Quebec exchange trip.

The annual period of Lent begins on Wednesday. Some Christians decide to give something up during Lent to help them remember Christ's sacrifice for us. A quick poll around the school shows that some of our staff and students are giving up the following: coffee, Facebook, fast food, dessert, reality tv shows...

Maybe this is something you and your family can talk about this week.

Chinese Potluck

On Thursday, February 26, 2009, we will be hosting our annual Chinese potluck lunch. Students are asked to sign up to bring an entrée or appetizer to share with classmates. The Internet hosts a variety of recipes on sites like allrecipes.com. We request that warm dishes be dropped off at the school by 12:15 pm, as it will be difficult for all three classes to reheat the potluck dishes at once...

All next week, students are encouraged to bring in loonies to assist Christian schools in Honduras. Let's put the Valentine's focus on sharing love for others through our generosity!
