Problem of the week (Due, Wednesday, May 6)


Getting home
Bus #7 left the elementary school partially filled and arrived at the middle school where fifteen students boarded the bus. The bus continued as follows:
*At the first four stops, two students got off the bus at each.
*At the next stop, three students got off the bus.
*At the next six stops, one student got off at each.
*Ten students got off at the recreation center, where five kindergarten students boarded the bus.
*At the final stop, seven students got off the bus leaving only the driver.
How many students boarded the bus at the elementary school?

The Chicken Problem


A small, medium, and large sized chicken were weighing themselves on a scale. The large and medium stepped on the scale together with a total weight of 30 lbs. The large and small chicken had a weight of 25 lbs. The small and medium chickens had a total weight of 13 lbs. 

What will the scale read when all 3 step on the scale together? 

How much does each chicken weigh?
