Derby Reach

Our annual grade 6 social to Derby Reach is set for Friday, September 19, 2008. We'll be leaving the school at around 10:00am and be returning before the end of the school day (around 2:30pm). Students should plan on hiking for about an hour with a hot dog lunch to follow (but we're only providing hot dogs which means drinks and snacks are extra). In the afternoon we'll explore other recreational opportunities.

Grade 6 Immunizations

Grade 6 immunizations are fast approaching and parents must read, sign, and return the consent forms (even if you don't want your child to receive the immunizations). For more details, visit ImmunizeBC.

Dates:

• Wednesday, September 17--forms go home
• Thursday, September 18--information video
• Wednesday, September 24--last day for forms to come in
• Thursday, October 2--school immunizations

Check out this new trend in book advertising. Seems booksellers are using the powerful media of sound and video to sell their products. By the way, this book is available in libraries.

BBQ

Last night's community BBQ was a success. The weather cooperated and tons of people came out, in addition to a couple bouncy castles and a red firetruck. If you didn't receive your child's classroom guide, contact your child's teacher.
